Did You Apply For NRNA USA Youth Leadership Scholarship ?
Although NRNA NCC USA is not performing satisfactorily , youth wing seems to be doing something. Youth wing was established to help students and Nepali youths to succeed in US.
Nepali students are facing many challenges to maintain their status due to financial difficulties. Most of the Nepali students can’t afford the high tuition cost because it is very expensive for international students and their parents in Nepal can’t afford to send thousands of Dollars to their sons and daughters. So these students bear enormous financial burden without the family support. They have to work long hours, maintain their GPA and attendance, cover the daily expenses and so on.
Although nobody can help everybody to bear their every financial burden. NRNA USA is trying to help some students with some scholarship. Youth Coordinator Swaraj Khati has already laid out the plan, procedure and action to help such individuals. They have formed youth leadership scholarship award committee and asked the qualified youths to apply for the scholarship. As the deadline for the application is approaching, Program chair Khati has once again asked those who qualify to apply for the award in a statement. His statement as follows:
This is a reminder: The deadline for student scholarship applications for Youth Leadership Scholarship Award is on March 31st, 2018. $1000 will be awarded to 4 undergraduate students of Nepali ethnic background from 4 different regions of USA.
Swaraj Khati, the Scholarship Program Chair and Youth Coordinator for NRNA NCC USA says, “We believe in encouraging student leaders towards transformative leadership, and active community engagement with the mainstream Nepalese-American community through this program. This is our first effort and we are also learning in the process. We would like to encourage all our community members to help spread the word about this initiative. We are determined to make this program bigger, better, and more inclusive next year and the years to come.”
This program has been administered by the Scholarship Committee whose members are: Suman Karki, Kushal Pokhrel, Sulav Paudel, Kirtana Banskota, Zubin Raj Bhandari, Dr. Pratik KC, Dr.Samita Limbu and Rajendra Joshi. The Selection Committee will be formed that will be responsible for evaluating applications and making final decision on the recipients.
